Why We Do It

Goodness, Purpose, and the Gift of Life

Our faith in Yeshua the Messiah shapes the way we serve. As Messianic Christians, we believe Yehovah created life with wisdom and purpose. We believe every mother is created in His image and worthy of dignity, kindness, and thoughtful care.

We value natural childbirth and informed decisions, while understanding that we live in a fallen world where challenges and medical interventions sometimes arise. We believe in strong marriages, strong families, hospitality, and women caring for other women. Our biblical convictions guide both our teaching and our care.

Our desire is to help mothers and fathers prepare for childbirth with knowledge rather than fear, and to welcome new life with peace and joy.

The Meaning Behind Goodness & Mercy

When Yehovah looked upon His creation, He called it tov (טוֹב)—good. This Hebrew word reminds us of the goodness of His creation, and of the wisdom and purpose with which He made life.

Goodness is more than an abstract idea to us. We hope it can be seen in the way we offer support, nourish families, and help mothers and babies flourish.

Kandice painted a family beside a river, surrounded by trees, flowers, and butterflies. In her accompanying essay, she reflects on the Hebrew word tov, the life-giving patterns of creation, and the value of caring for mothers, babies, and entire families.

The Heart Behind Goodness & Mercy

We believe Yehovah created the human body with wisdom and purpose. Throughout the account of creation, He called what He had made tov (טוֹב)—good. Creation was designed for life, growth, fruitfulness, and the fulfillment of His purposes.

Our desire is to cultivate that goodness in the lives of the women and families we serve. No two mothers come to pregnancy and birth with the same circumstances. Some have excellent health, supportive relationships, and abundant resources; others face illness, financial hardship, or uncertainty.

We do not measure one woman’s birth against another’s or promise an ideal outcome. Instead, we listen to each family and help them pursue the healthiest, most beneficial experience possible through education, preparation, nutrition, appropriate medical care, and practical support.

We also know that complications can arise despite excellent preparation. This is where chesed (חֶסֶד)—mercy, lovingkindness, and faithful love—becomes especially meaningful. Mercy is expressed not only when difficulties are prevented, but when someone is faithfully supported through them.

It may look like a nourishing meal, a listening ear, a timely referral, an advocate during an unexpected change of plans, or a comforting presence during recovery and grief. A mother’s need for care does not diminish when her birth takes a different path.

We cannot guarantee an easy birth or prevent every complication. We can seek goodness within each woman’s real circumstances, offer practical mercy where support is missing, and honor every mother and baby as precious—regardless of background or beliefs.

Our hope is that families experience something of the goodness and mercy of Psalm 23:6, not simply as beautiful words, but in the care they receive.

A Faith That Leads Us to Serve

We seek to demonstrate the love of Yeshua through practical kindness, patient listening, and respectful care. Our convictions remain central to our work, and we welcome opportunities to support families from many different backgrounds.
