Support for Your Birth, Your Family, and Your Choices
Congratulations on your growing family! If you’re expecting a baby in the Greater Lansing or Mid-Michigan area, we’re glad you’re here. Whether you’re planning to give birth at home, in a birth center, or at a hospital, a birth doula can offer steady, personal support as you prepare and throughout labor.

What Is a Birth Doula?
A doula provides non-medical emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum season. Doulas do not replace your midwife, doctor, or nurse. Instead, we work alongside your care team and the people you choose to have with you, helping you feel informed and supported.
How We Can Help
Prenatal Visits
Our doula care includes three prenatal visits, at least two in person. We want time to get acquainted, discuss your hopes and questions, review previous birth experiences, and prepare together for the birth ahead.
Birth Preparation and Education
During prenatal visits, we’ll help you understand labor, explore your options, practice comfort measures, and prepare a birth plan. Our comprehensive 12-lesson childbirth education course is a separate service, but education and preparation are important parts of our doula care.
Encouragement Throughout Pregnancy
We offer phone, text, and email support during normal business hours, along with regular check-ins as your due date approaches. Beginning at 37 weeks, we’re available around the clock for labor-related communication as part of our on-call commitment. Medical questions that require clinical assessment belong with your maternity care provider.
Labor and Birth Support
Beginning at 37 weeks, your doula is on call for your birth. When active labor begins and you’re ready for support, she will join you at home or at your chosen birth location, according to your arrangements. She can offer reassurance, massage, position suggestions, and encouragement for your support team. Backup assistance is available during especially long labors or unexpected circumstances. We ordinarily stay for approximately two hours after birth.
Postpartum Follow-Up
We plan a postpartum visit approximately two to three days after birth. This gives us time to talk through your birth experience, answer non-medical questions, offer encouragement, and help you find additional resources as your family settles in.
Our Approach
Our faith in Yeshua the Messiah shapes our desire to serve others. We believe mothers deserve dignity, kindness, informed choices, and compassionate care. We value physiological birth while recognizing that every mother’s needs and circumstances are different.
Our biblical convictions guide both our teaching and our care. We welcome opportunities to serve families from many different backgrounds while remaining faithful to those convictions.
